Hi,
I’m Siobhan Boucher and I work with you and your partner to …
Explore your options, gain clarity around which options are best for you and support you through your fertility journey
As you can see I have an amazing daughter who was born in 2005 with the most gorgeous red hair or should I say strawberry blonde. We thought she would make a great sister, so we tried for another baby.
Sadly, an ectopic pregnancy resulted in the removal of my right fallopian tube and a subsequent miscarriage led us to go for some fertility tests. After a diagnosis of secondary infertility it was like as if someone had slapped me across the face. How had I found myself at this crossroad? After all we already had a healthy girl and 2 subsequent pregnancies even if they were unsuccessful.
The loss of the possibility of having another child and the events of the previous 2 disappointments came flooding back. I knew I had to do something, so I went to see a fertility coach…
What I learned from my fertility coach
I have learned some of my most valuable life lessons as a result of this journey.
- Through fertility coaching I acknowledged the impact my ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage had on me. They will always be a part of who I am and now I look to the future with no regrets.
- To show your emotions is a sign of strength not weakness, everything happens in life for a reason, and it is how you deal with life’s ups and downs that determine what we get out of life.
- You have to let go in order to move on.
Fertility issues, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and grief can all have a negative impact on our lives. There is little or no support for women and men suffering from either primary or secondary infertility.
Through fertility coaching I have found an inner peace and acceptance of my situation and discovered a huge desire to help people through their own individual journeys, so I decided to become a fertility coach.
How I can help you (and your partner)
While I cannot guarantee a successful pregnancy fertility coaching is about regaining control over your fertility journey and developing a positive attitude to your fertility.
- Is fertility treatment the right option for me / what clinic to choose?
- What are the alternatives?
- Are there other areas in life that I need to address, diet, work, relationships
Is it worth it if you lose yourself or your partner in the quest to have a baby? Life is all about choices, fertility coaching is all about choice and it is about finding the right choices for you.
What fertility coaching can do for you …
Fertility coaching takes a solution based approach and will help you achieve your
outcomes. We can design a unique fertility plan based on what right for you.
It helps increase fertility by
- Reducing stress and increasing calmness
- Restoring balance and taking control of what you can
- Identifying and resolving issues that may be preventing you from conceiving
- Assist you to make any necessary lifestyle changes or prepare for fertility
treatment.
It can also reduce the effects of infertility
- Building coping strategies
- Working through unresolved grief
- Restoring trust in your body
Make a change in your life; change how you think about infertility. We do the same
things over and over and we expect different results?
My top tips …
- Don’t lose sight of yourself and the other person in your relationship.
- Take care of yourself physical and emotionally by eating well and taking regular exercise.
- Encourage your emotions; find ways to release your emotions, through keeping a journal, talking to a good friend or a fertility coach.
- Take some time to acknowledge a diagnosis of either primary or
secondary infertility before rushing into expensive fertility treatment, it may save you time,
money and a lot of heartache in the long term. - Above all don’t be so hard on yourself, give yourself a break and treat yourself as much as you can. For me if 1 little girl is my lot then wow I am very happy with my lot.
